Schools Based Therapy

I am committed to providing a safe, holistic, consistent, and dynamic support network for children and young people.

When children feel emotionally and socially supported, they are more likely to thrive. When a child is struggling it can manifest in challenging behaviours. These behaviours are often a form of communication and it's important to try to understand the underlying causes of these behaviours. Providing a neutral and pressure-free environment can help children and adolescents feel safe and supported, which can contribute to their overall development and their future. Schools are becoming very aware of the importance of creating such environments to help children overcome any barriers to learning and to flourish.

I have a wealth of experience working with children and young people in a variety of educational settings. These include mainstream, independent and special education, offering 1:1, group therapy and psychoeducational support. I can work individually or as part of a team. I have worked with different age groups and diverse populations, offering adaptability and versatility as a therapist.

I have set up therapy services in schools. This requires a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of the specific setting, as well as the ability to navigate complex organisational structures and build relationships with key staff members. In addition I offer staff counselling and therapeutic supervision.

I am committed to providing a holistic, consistent and dynamic support network for children and young people. As a therapist working with children and young people it is important to establish a collaborative relationship with parents or caregivers and to work together to identify goals and strategies for supporting the child's growth and development.
